- Third consecutive monthly decline in freight traffic with
foreign traffic handled in March 2022 by Chinese ports

- The containers have been pairs to 21,0 million teu (+1.6%)

Last month, Chinese ports handled a total of
1.27 billion tons of goods, with a decrease of -0.3% on the
March 2020, of which 843.8 million tons handled by the same
seaports (+0.3%) and 429.0 million tons from inland
port (-1.4%). The only traffic with foreign countries handled in March 2022
from Chinese ports amounted to 371.5 million tons,
with a decrease of -6.1% on March 2021, a negative trend in progress
consecutively for three months, of which 335.0 million tons
enlivened by seaports alone (-4.9%) and 36.5 million
tons from inland ports (-15.8%).-
- Last month the largest volumes of traffic of the
goods were handled from the ports of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 104.5
million tons (+4.6%), Tangshan with 64.0 million
tons (+7.5%), Shanghai with 57.7 million tons (-3.0%),
Qingdao with 56.6 million tons (+2.3%) and Guangzhou with 53.7
million tons (-2.7%).

- As for international freight traffic alone, as of March 2022 i
more substantial volumes of this traffic flow are
states handled by the ports of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 45.0 million
tons (-3.6%), Qingdao with 41.0 million tons (+0.3%),
Shanghai with 34.6 million tons (+1.6%), Rizhao with 26.7
million tons (-6.1%), Tianjin with 23.2 million
tons (-3.3%) and Tangshan with 21.7 million tons
(-11,2%).

- The only container traffic handled last month by the
ports has been pairs to 23,8 million teu (+1.4%), of which 21,0
million teu enlivened by seaports (+1.6%) and 2.8 million
of teu from the inland port (-0.4%). The most relevant volumes of
containerized traffic were handled by the ports of
Shanghai with 4.1 million teu (+5.1%), Ningbo-Zhoushan with 2.7
million teu (+6.8%), Shenzhen with 2.2 million teu (-8.3%),
Qingdao with 2.2 million teu (+6.9%), Guangzhou with 2.1 million teu
teu (-2.4%), Tianjin with 1.8 million teu (+2.9%) and Xiamen with
999 thousand teu (+2.1%).

- In the first quarter of 2022, Chinese ports handled
a total of 3.63 billion tonnes of goods, a volume that
represents the new record for the first quarterly period
of the year and an increase of +1.6% on the first three months of last year
when the previous record was set. The new peak for
this time of year is also such for the volumes of
traffic handled both by seaports alone and by seaports alone
inland ports that amounted to 2.41 billion respectively
of tons (+1.8%) and 1,22 billion tons (+1.1%).

- In the first three months of this year only international goods
handled by Chinese ports amounted to 1.11 million
tons, with a decrease of -4.7% on the corresponding period of the
2021, of which 998.7 million tons handled by ports
maritime (-3.5%) and 107.5 million tons from inland ports
(-14,6%).

- In the first quarter of 2022 only containerized traffic
handled by Chinese ports amounted to 67.4 million
teu (+2.4%), of which 59.8 million teu enlivened by ports
maritime (+2.5%) and 7.6 million teu from the inland ports (+1.7%). The
the largest volumes of containerized traffic were
enlivened by the ports of Shanghai with 12,3 million teu (+8.1%),
Ningbo-Zhoushan with 7.9 million teu (+2.9%), Shenzhen with 6.5
million teu (-10.1%), Qingdao with 5.9 million teu (+6.3%),
Guangzhou with 5.5 million teu (-1.3%), Tianjin with 4.6 million teu
teu (+3.6%) and Xiamen with 2.9 million teu (+2.9%).
