
In the first quarter of this year, the port of Civitavecchia
1.76 million tons of goods handled, down -1.0%
over the same period in 2025. The traffic of miscellaneous goods
recorded a growth of +2.4% with 1.36 million tons
handled and with only one container traffic that was
equal to 26,428 TEUs (-5.4%). In the liquid bulk sector, with a
of 301 thousand tons, an increase of

+17.1%, with 291 thousand tons of petroleum products alone
refined (+24.1%). On the other hand, there was a sharp decrease in dry bulk cargo
which totaled 97 thousand tons, with a reduction of
-54.0% which is a consequence of the now complete zeroing of the
and the decline in metallurgical product volumes
(67 thousand tons, -61.5%) and raw minerals (9 thousand tons,
-60.8%), while other dry bulk cargo rose by +72.7%
settling at 21 thousand tons. In the automotive sector,
78 thousand vehicles were handled (+49.4%).
In the first three months of 2026, cruise traffic
Civitavecchia was 335 thousand passengers (+32.1%), of which
131 thousand as home ports (+40.5%) and 204 thousand in transit (+27.2%). The
scheduled passenger traffic was 171 thousand units
(+17,9%).
Overall, in the first quarter of this year, the ports of
Civitavecchia, Fiumicino and Gaeta handled 2.94 million
tons of goods (+0.2%). At Fiumicino the total was
694 thousand (+0.5%), consisting mainly of refined products
intended for the supply of the international airport
Leonardo da Vinci, while in Gaeta the overall figure was
of 487 thousand tons (+4.2%).
