
The Memorandum of Understanding for the cessation of hostilities
signed digitally and remotely in the past few hours by the president
of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, and the President of the United States, Donald
Trump, includes measures for the gradual restoration of ship traffic
between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman in view of the agreement
between the two parties expected within 60 days, extendable with
mutual consent.
On the US side, there is a commitment to remove within 30
naval blockade against Iran, or any other obstacle to the
maritime traffic of the Islamic Republic, and to withdraw the
armed forces positioned in the vicinity of Iran
within the same period, while on the Iranian side it will be
ensured safe and free transit of commercial vessels
through the Strait of Hormuz for a period of 60 days,
maritime traffic that will be reactivated immediately while
Water demining operations will be carried out
of the region to complete them within 30 days. È
expected that the future management of the Strait will be negotiated
between Iran, Oman and other Gulf States in accordance with the law
and the rights of these States.
