
In the second quarter of 2026, the opposite trends continued
growth and decrease in imports and exports
through Montenegro's ports in place since the end of 2024. In the
April-June period of this year the national ports of call

handled a total of 631 thousand tons, with a decrease in
-5.8% on the same quarter of 2025, of which 418 thousand tons
in imports (+15.6%) and 213 thousand tons in exports
(-31,0%). The total traffic to and from Italy alone is
amounted to 92 thousand tons (-40.6%), of which 77 thousand tons in
imports (-20.1%) and 15 thousand tons in exports (-74.6%).
In the second quarter of this year, passenger traffic
in Montenegrin ports was 288 thousand people (+26.6%),
of which 284 thousand in transit (+26.6%). Passenger traffic with
Italy was 57 thousand people all in transit (-7.5%).
In the first six months of 2026, global freight traffic
1.13 million tonnes, down -7.8% on the first
of last year, of which 680 thousand tons in
imports (+19.2%) and 447 thousand in exports (-31.5%). The only
traffic with Italy was 199 thousand tons (-15.3%),
of which 132 thousand tons imported through the ports of
Montenegro (-6.2%) and 68 thousand tons exported (-28.7%).
In the first half of this year, passenger traffic increased
state of 302 thousand people (+30.3%), of which 57 thousand with Italy
(-9,0%).
