A few days after his untimely death, after a long
illness, by Maurizio Longo, the national assembly of Trasportiunita
proceeded to assign the post of Secretary-General
of the association to Giulio Stoppa, lawyer, one of the founders of the
First hour of the road haulage union and historical figure
of the association together with the president Franco Pensiero.
"To take on the responsibility of Secretary General today
of Trasporto Unito - said Stoppa - represents for me a
great honour and, at the same time, an even greater responsibility
major. Maurizio was a fundamental part of the
history of this association and our commitment to protecting
of road transport. I thank the assembly for its trust and I am
aware that the work that awaits us will have to be
up to the history of Trasportiunita and the challenges that the
sector puts us in front of us".
In a note, the association specified that the appointment of
Stoppa represents a choice of continuity and at the same time
the start of a new phase, in the name of values and objectives
that have accompanied its path, but also of the confirmation of the
that have allowed the association to
grow and to establish itself, with Longo, as a reality
characterized by strong autonomy and independence.
