The group Wärtsilä Corporation has won a contract to supply the main propulsion system of 25 new oil tankers of the Russian Volga Shipping Co. Fifteen vessels will be built at the shipyard of Navashino Okskaya Sudoverf (Oka Shipyard) and will be delivered to the Volga-Flot -Tanker, a subsidiary of Volga Shipping, while the other ten will be built at the shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod's Krasnoye Sormovo, of which five will be delivered to the tanker and five Bash Time to Volgotrans, both branches of the Volga Shipping.
. Delivery of the engines will start next fall and will be completed in mid 2013.
Oil tankers have a deadweight of 6,979 tons, will be 140 meters long and will have a draft of 4.2 meters. The first ship will enter service in late 2012.
