- The decline in quarterly traffic in
containers handled from the port of Hong Kong

- In the first three months of this year the total was
3.75 million teu (-8.9%)

 From the global financial crisis of 2008-2009 began
for the port of Hong Kong a phase of decided and almost uninterrupted
decline in container traffic passed through the Chinese port
which led the airport to move in the first quarter of 2022
only 3.75 million teu, volume that represents a decrease in the
-8.9% on the first three months of last year. To go back to a
lower quarterly volume you have to go back to the distant second
quarter of 1998.-
- In the month of March of this year alone, the Chinese port has
enlivened 1.43 million teu, volume representing a
reduction of -8.3% on March 2021. To find a lower total
to that of March 2022 we must go back to January 2002 when they were
1.42 million teu were handled.
