- New delivery of the works for the construction of the container
terminal of the port of Augsburg

- Three docks will be built for a development of about 600
Meters

 The port of Augsburg has been trying for many, too many years to fit in
permanently in the market of contaminated transport by sea
equipping itself with a terminal for containers that would have the task of
intercept part of the traffic crossing the Suez Canal and
sort them to other ports, thus operating an activity of
transhipment of containers that many other Mediterranean ports carry out
often advantaged, especially those on the southern coast of
basin, from a lower labor cost or from direct management
of the docks by leading shipping companies
worlds operating in this sector and therefore interested
to direct their ships and those of the consortia of which they make
leaves for the terminals they manage.-
- Delivered a year and a half ago the works for the construction of the
first and second batch of the new container terminal of the port of
Augsburg for an amount of 50 million euros

November 2020), today the President of the Authority of
Port System of the Sea of Eastern Sicily, Francesco Di
Sarcina, who has held the position since mid-March,
try to speed up the development of the activities of the
Augustan stopover in this sector delivering the works for the
construction of the container terminal, as part of the project
unified that brings together the two lots, with a ceremony at which they have
nello Musumeci, president of the Sicilian Region,
Giancarlo Cancelleri State Secretary at the Ministry of
Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility and the mayors of
Augusta, Giuseppe Di Mare, of Priolo, Pippo Gianni, and Melilli,
Giuseppe Carta.-
- The planned intervention, which will last 1,200
days and a cost of 175 million euros gross of the reduction - ha
recalled the AdSP - provides for the expansion of existing squares
within the commercial port of Augsburg, through the
construction of a new container terminal in the area located above
below the Syracuse-Catania railway line, north of the
existing docks. At the end of the works, the new terminal will be
consisting of three operational docks, for a total development of
about 600 meters, and from a square of about 115 thousand square meters.

- On the occasion of today's ceremony it was announced
also the publication of the tender for the works of re-flowering of the
mantle of the breakwater of the port of Catania, for a
investment of about 75 million euros.
