- In May the traffic of goods in the port of Naples is
increased by +16.1%, while in Salerno it fell by -22.4%
-
- In the first five months of 2022 recorded changes
percentages of +11.0% and -14.4% respectively

Last May the Campania ports of Naples and Salerno have
handled freight traffic amounted to 2.91 million
tons, with a decrease of -1.9% on May 2021 when
the activity was partly limited by the continuing effects of the
Covid-19 pandemic, with an increase of +19.5% on May 2020
when the impact of the health crisis was much more
relevant and with a decrease of -1.6% on May 2019 when
the health emergency had not yet manifested itself.-
- The reduction in traffic recorded in May 2022 is
has been determined by the contraction of the volumes of miscellaneous goods which
are attested to 2,13 million tons, with a decrease of -10.0%
on May 2021, an increase of +6.2% on May 2021 and a
decrease of -11.0% on May 2019, of which 1.06 million
tons of rolling stock (respectively -11.8%, +5.1% and -13.0%),
988 thousand tons of goods in containers (-7.1%, +6.0% and -2.6%) and
90 thousand tons of other miscellaneous goods (-16.2%, +25.2% and -47.2%). In
growth, however, both liquid bulk with 573 thousand tons
(+19.6%, +70.2% and +28.2%) and dry bulk with 203 thousand
tons (+75.0%, +123.8% and +82.4%).

- Last May the port of Naples alone enlivened a
total of 1.83 million tons of cargoes (+16.1%, +48.3% and
+13.8%), including 1.09 million tons of miscellaneous goods (+9.2%,
+33.6% and +2.2%) composed of 640 thousand tons of goods
containerized (+9.5%, +24.3% and +8.6%) made with a
handling of containers equal to 64 thousand teu (+13.7%, +22.6% and
+8.3%) and 455 thousand tons of rolling stock (+8.9%, +49.2% and -5.5%). In the
liquid bulk sector, 573 thousand were handled
tons (+19.6%, +70.2% and +28.2%), of which 472 thousand tons of
refined petroleum products (+24.3%, +101.9% and +47.9%), 78 thousand
tonnes of gaseous, liquefied or compressed oil products, and
natural gas (-5.1%, +82.7% and -11.2%) and 22 thousand tons of other
liquid bulk (+35.9%, -63.0% and -43.4%). Solid bulk is
amounted to 165 thousand tons (+69.4%, +107.0% and +78.4%), of which
80 thousand tons of metallurgical products, iron ore,
minerals and non-ferrous metals (+91.7%, 472.8% and +675.7%) and 51 thousand
tons of other solid bulk (+101.2%, +92.5% and +37.1%).

- In the port of Salerno, on the other hand, in May 2022 the traffic has
marked a substantial reduction having been equal to 1.08 million
of tons (-22.4%, -4.5% and -8.4%), of which 601 thousand tons of
rolling stock (-22.9%, -14.1% and -17.9%), 348 thousand tons of cargo
containerized (-27.9%, -16.5% and -18.0%) totaled with a
container handling pairs to 31 thousand teu (-18.4%, -8.3% and
-10.0%) and 39 thousand tons of solid bulk (+103.7%, +241.5% and
+101,9%).

- Last May the passenger traffic of the services
local seafarers and ferries in administered ports
by the Port System Authority of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea is
state of 756 thousand people, with an increase of +166.7% on May
2021, of which 631 thousand people in the port of Naples (+139.4%) and 101 thousand
in the port of Salerno (+717.5%). The traffic of cruise passengers is
total status of 118 thousand passengers (+751.8%), of which
107 thousand in Naples (+669.4%) and 11 thousand in Salerno, traffic that in May
2021 in the airport was stopped.

- In the first five months of 2021 the two ports of Campania have
globally handled 13.50 million tons of goods, with
a decrease of -1.5% on the same period last year, of
which 7,74 million tons in Naples (+11.0%) and 5,76 million tons
tons in Salerno (-14.4%).
