In June, the growth of freight traffic in the port of Naples and the decline in that of Salerno continued

In the port of call of the capital of Campania the traffic of the miscellaneous goods amounted to 1.03 million tonnes (+1.6%), of which 587 thousand tons of cargo in container (+7.9%) and 445 thousand tons of rolling stock (-5.6%). Bulk is also growing liquid with 514 thousand tons (+7.8%), including 431 thousand tons of refined petroleum products (+9.5%), 73 thousand tons of petroleum products gaseous, liquefied or compressed and natural gas (+5.7%) and 10 thousand tons of other liquid cargoes (-30.1%), and in dry bulk also increased with 110 thousand tons (+19.2%), of which 18 thousand tons of cereals (- 0.2%), 63 thousand tons of metallurgical products (-22.1%) and 30 thousand tons of other cargoes (+27,6%).
In the port of Salerno the various goods totaled 1.02 million tons (-13.7%), with decreases in both goods in containers with 329 thousand tons (-19.5%) both of rolling stock with 636 thousand tons (-12.0%), while the other various goods are increased by +9.2% to 52 thousand tons. Bulk traffic solid has been of 13 thousand tons (- 82.8%).
With regard to passenger traffic, as of June 2022 in the port of Naples the cruise passengers have been 134 thousand (+820.8%) and the passengers of the regular lines 808 thousand (+78.5%), while in Salerno the ferries have enlivened 140 thousand passengers (+265.3%) and the cruise passengers were almost 5 thousand, traffic that in June 2021 was firm.
In the first seven months of this year the two ports of Campania have handled a total of 16.19 million tons of goods, with a decrease of -2.2% on the same period of 2021, of which 9.39 million tons in the port of Naples (+9.8%), 6.79 million tons in the port of Salerno (-15.0%) and 86 thousand in that of Castellammare di Stabia (+123.7%).
