The Port Authority of Barcelona will acquire 40% of the capital of the Terminal Intermodal de Navarra (TIN), terminal intermodal system located in Noáin, Navarre, which has been modernized and inaugurated yesterday. The share will be acquired as part of a capital increase of TIN which will see the current owner, Hutchison Ports Best, a company of Hutchison Ports of the CK Hutchison Holdings group of Hong Kong, maintain the majority stake of 60%.

Justifying the acquisition, the Chairman of the Authority Barcelona docker, José Alberto Carbonell, has highlighted that the mission of the institution "does not end with the port. Our responsibility - he specified - is contribute to the competitiveness of the companies in our hinterland, bringing international markets closer to the productive aspects of the hinterland. For this reason, we are firmly committed to rail and a network of internal terminals that make more integrated, efficient logistics possible and sustainable. The participation of the Port of Barcelona in Terminal Intermodal de Navarra - added Carbonell - is part of the our strategy for the development of railway services and internal terminals, with the aim of facilitating access to international maritime services without the need to be physically present in the port area. This network reduces logistics costs, improves the efficiency of supply chain and contribute to the reduction of associated emissions to the transport of goods'.

With the modernization works, the TIN terminal has reached a area of 42 thousand square meters.
