This morning the Management Committee of the System Authority Port of the Sea of Sardinia has adopted the update to the Strategic System Planning Document that incorporates the indications of the Municipalities, an act which will be followed by a new Decision-making services conference with the involvement of the same Municipalities concerned for subsequent transmission to the Ministry of Transport Infrastructures and the Sardinia Region.

With regard to the ports of the Sardinian system, for the port of Cagliari, the DPSS proposes a dual and complementary vocation. From a part, the Canal Port which is configured as a multipurpose hub dedicated to commercial traffic, logistics, containers, bulk cargo, ro-ro traffic, industrial activities and to shipbuilding. On the other, the historic port, which consolidates its vocation for cruising, yachting recreational services, tourist services and port-city interaction. The nearby port of Sarroch - Porto Foxi confirms its peculiarity in the energy, oil and gas sectors chemical-industrial, representing one of the main poles for liquid bulk and for the support of the energy in the Mediterranean. With the DPSS, Olbia reaffirms its role as a primary port of call in the Mediterranean for traffic passenger and commercial, strengthening the Ro-Pax and Ro-Ro functions. At the same time, it aims to develop its vocation cruise, pleasure boating and shipbuilding, with Particular attention to refitting and services for the maxi segments and giga yachts. Porto Torres is articulated in complementarity between the civic port and the industrial port: the first is oriented towards the passenger traffic, cruises, pleasure boating and fishing; the second to goods, logistics, activities energy, industrial and shipbuilding. The airport Golfo Aranci confirms its vocation oriented towards passenger connections, cruises, pleasure boating and the enhancement of those historical identity activities related to fishing and traditional seafaring. The port of Oristano - Santa Giusta strengthens its specialization in bulk traffic and in industrial activities and by enhancing the role of regional energy hub connected to the LNG supply chain and developing, at the same time, the cruise sector. Portovesme consolidates its role as a industrial and energy port at the service of the production hub of the Sulcis, combining this function with that of natural connection with the Island of San Pietro and Carloforte. For Santa Teresa Gallura the DPSS strengthens its specialist vocation in ro-pax connections with Corsica and, through the strengthening of the port infrastructures, opens, in the future, to the market cruise of small luxury ships. The port of Arbatax, finally, it consolidates a multifunctional vocation that integrates traffic commercial and passenger, project cargo related to the activities for the production of industrial and cruise components luxury. For the Ogliastra airport, precisely in support of the relevant tourist function of the territory and local tradition fishing boat, the DPSS provides for an expansion of the port areas from allocate, in particular, to pleasure boating, shipbuilding and fishing.
