Next Saturday GNV, the ferry company of the MSC group, will activate a third maritime service to Algeria which will connect the port of Civitavecchia with that of Annaba and which will join the routes already active from Sète (France) to Algiers and Bejaia. The new Civitavecchia-Annaba line will be active for the summer with two weekly rotations - the Tuesdays and Saturdays - operated by the Cristal ship which It has a capacity of two thousand passengers.

"With the opening of the Civitavecchia-Annaba line - explained the CEO of GNV, Matteo Catani - let's give continuity of the growth path started in Algeria last year, a market that was confirmed to be in line with the expectations in terms of passenger and freight traffic. We have decided to strengthen our commitment with a new direct link because we believe in the long-term potential of country, and we will continue to invest in the fleet, frequencies and dedicated services to respond more and more aimed at the needs of the North African market".

In 2025, GNV transported 58,000 passengers to Algeria from June to December. The company specified that this result of Traffic has supported the decision to invest in this market.
