From 22 to 24 October Expo will be held in Piacenza AGV Expo, the new European trade fair dedicated to automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and technologies for the automated logistics that is organized by Mediapoint & Exhibitions. The fair will cover the entire ecosystem of automated logistics, including autonomous vehicles, navigation, warehouse automation, software platforms, robots industrial, security technologies, energy solutions and system integration.

The event was created in response to the rapid growth of automation in the manufacturing, warehousing and logistics sectors, bringing together vehicle manufacturers, technology providers, software developers, system integrators and end users, and comes at a time when automated logistics is evolving from a specialized discipline of engineering to investment mainstream industry. According to Research Nester, the global market of AGVs exceeded $3.23 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach eight billion dollars by 2035. In parallel, Mordor Intelligence predicts that the European market increases from $1.87 billion in 2026 to over $3.12 billion dollars by 2031, with an annual growth of about +10.8%.

The growth of automated logistics also responds to the Increasing pressures on manufacturers and operators to improve productivity, cope with the labor shortages and modernize existing businesses. According to research commissioned by Gi Group Holding, in 2024 Europe has experienced a shortage of 1.1 million warehouse workers, with 75% of companies in the warehouse management sector in difficulties in recruiting personnel. AGVs and AMRs are helping businesses automate repetitive tasks, and physically demanding material handling, allowing to redeploy staff in supervisory activities, optimization and operational tasks with greater added value. To the at the same time, advances in artificial intelligence, LiDAR navigation, computer vision, fleet management and wireless connectivity make the more capable, flexible and commercially viable autonomous vehicles sustainable compared to previous generations.
