Last month, container traffic at the Port of Long Beach marked a marked growth of +31.7% on May 2025 being amounted to 842 thousand TEUs. There was a sharp increase in both the full containers upon disembarkation and loading, respectively at 419 thousand TEUs (+40.0%) and 109 thousand TEUs (+32.9%), both the empty containers totaled 314 thousand TEUs (+21.8%).

In the first five months of 2026, containerized traffic total amounted to 4.05 million TEUs, with a slight increase of +0.2% over the same period last year, of which 1.96 million full TEUs at landing (+1.1%), 529 thousand full TEUs at boarding (+13.0%) and 1.56 million empty TEUs (-4.5%).
