- Intesa DNV - Saronic Ferries for a fleet of ferries in
zero emissions
-
- Memorandum of understanding to develop a ship
fully electric
-
Classification society DNV has signed an agreement
with the Greek shipping company Saronic Ferries focused
on the development of an all-electric ferry to be used
on domestic sea routes in the Argo-Saronic Gulf area.
"We - explained Joseph Lefaki, partner of Saronic Ferries -
we manage the largest fleet in the Saronic Islands, which
find a few miles from the port of Piraeus, which is the most
large port of Greece, where decarbonization matters most.
Our goal is to collaborate with stakeholders
forward-looking, like DNV, and make the first ferry
fully electric in Greece, for the Saronic Islands'.
"Our purpose - added George Papaioannides, partner
of Saronic Ferries - is to operate a fleet
totally emission-free by 2040 to all our
destinations'.
