VARD, the Norwegian subsidiary of the Fincantieri Group, has signed
a contract for the design and construction of a unit
advanced fishery for the Norwegian company Rosund Drift AS,
operator based in Ålesund and part of a consolidated
consortium active in ocean fisheries. The ship will be
optimized for ocean fishing operations that allow both the
bottom fishing and mixed fishing, ensuring a
of the catch, a high quality of the product and a
reduction of environmental impact.
The ship will have a length of about 80.4 meters and a
16.7 meters wide with reinforced hull for navigation in
waters with the presence of ice. The hull will be built
at the Vard shipyard in Braila, Romania, while the activities
set-up, testing, testing and delivery are scheduled in the third
quarter of 2028 at the Vard Brattvaag plant in
Norway.
