Union wont provoke rig dispute: Coombs The Maritime Union of Australia has no intention of provoking a dispute on the oil rig Ocean General, according to MUA national secretary John Coombs. Mr Coombs yesterday told DCN from Hobart, where he is attending the ALP national conference that he welcomed the decision of the AIRC not to exclude the union from representing workers on the vessel, a new oil rig which will operate on the North West Shelf of Western Australia.
