
This morning at Fincantieri's Monfalcone shipyard,
the ceremony for the cutting of the first sheet metal of the Carnival took place
Destiny, a new cruise ship for the American group
Carnival Corporation with which the Italian company celebrated today
also the thirtieth anniversary of their collaboration. The

takes on a particular symbolic value in the history of the
two groups that have started their
collaboration with the historic
Carnival Destiny, delivered
in 1996 it went down in history as the first cruise ship to be
world to exceed 100,000 gross tons, contributing
to redefine industry standards. Since then, Fincantieri has
delivered 76 ships to the different brands of Carnival Corporation, including
15 for Carnival Cruise Line.
The new Carnival Destiny will be the first of three
new ships of the "Ace" class for the brand
Carnival Cruise Line, with deliveries scheduled in 2029, 2031 and
2033. With a gross tonnage of approximately 230,000 tons, the unit
will represent the largest ship ever built by the
group and the largest ever made in Italy. Powered by
liquefied natural gas, Carnival Destiny will have
over 3,000 cabins and will be able to carry more than 8,000
passengers at full capacity. It will integrate technologies
to improve energy efficiency, waste management and
waste and emission reduction, helping to minimise
further the overall environmental impact.
