
In the first three months of 2026, freight traffic in ports
was 73.2 million tonnes, with a
increase of +3.8% compared to the first quarter of last year, of which
47.0 million tonnes of cargo at landing (+0.2%) and 26.2 million tonnes
million tonnes at embarkation (+11.0%). In the field of

tons of dry bulk (+22.4%) and 9.7 million tons of
liquid bulk (+2.8%).
This is followed by the port of Marseille-Fos which in the first three months of the
2026 handled 17.7 million tons of cargo (-2.9%),
of which 3.7 million tonnes of containerised goods (+10.5%),
1.1 million tons of rolling stock (+1.3%), 340 thousand tons of
other miscellaneous goods (+26.4%), 1.5 million tonnes of bulk cargo
(-17.6%) and 11.1 million tonnes of liquid bulk
(-5,6%).
The third largest quarterly traffic volume is
was handled by the port of Dunkirk which totaled 13.1
million tons (+12.3%). Then follow the port of call of
Calais with 10.0 million tonnes (+2.4%), Nantes
Saint-Nazaire with 7.1 million tons (-0.2%), of La Rochelle
with 2.2 million tons (+13.2%) and Bordeaux with 1.5 million tons
of tons (-3.1%).
