FIRMATA INTESA PER LA PROMOZIONE DEL GNL IN LIGURIA

Un protocollo d'intesa per definire un percorso condiviso tra gli enti locali per il GNL, il gas naturale liquefatto, al fine di introdurlo come carburante alternativo, spiegandneo ad ogni livello i vantaggi, sia in termini ambientali che di sicurezza.

È questo, in sintesi, l'obiettivo dell'intesa sottoscritta da Regione Liguria, Città Metropolitana e Comune di Genova, Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale e Orientale, Direzione Marittima per la Liguria, Università, Vigili del Fuoco e Camere di Commercio liguri, che diventa il punto di partenza per avviare un percorso virtuoso per l'introduzione di questa tecnologia.

"Il protocollo siglato rappresenta un unicum nel territorio nazionale - sottolinea l'assessore allo Sviluppo economico di Regione Liguria Andrea Benveduti - e per la prima volta, sul tema della diffusione e promozione del Gas Naturale Liquefatto, concorrono tutte le principali istituzioni pubbliche, ciascuna nel proprio ambito e per la propria competenza, ad azioni coordinate e condivise".

"Il protocollo risponde a tre esigenze: introdurre il GNL come carburante alternativo, spiegarne, ad ogni livello, i vantaggi, sia in termini ambientali che di sicurezza e dare una risposta alla crescente domanda di GNL", prosegue Benveduti.

Da questo documento, comunque, inizierà anche un percorso per individuare la collocazione dei depositi sul territorio genovese.

"Questo protocollo ha la finalità di approfondire, e non calare le decisioni dall'alto - sottolinea l'assessore all'ambiente e trasporti del Comune di Genova, Matteo Campora - perché permetterà di individuare, da un punto di vista tecnico, le aree che potrebbero ospitare gli impianti".

Anche perché questo tipo di carburante potrebbe alimentare, oltre alle navi, anche i mezzi pubblici.

"Sappiamo che il GNL è necessario per lo sviluppo dei porti - conclude Campora - ma può essere anche un mezzo attraverso il quale alimentare il trasporto pubblico locale".
