NEW ECSA PRESIDENCY

The ECSA General Assembly, meeting in Rome on 15 June, appointed Mr. Emanuele Grimaldi as President of ECSA for a period of two years succeeding Mr. Knud Pontoppidan. Mr. Grimaldi is Managing Director of the Grimaldi Group of Naples and plays an active role in different Italian and International companies and associations.

The General Assembly also appointed Mr. Graeme Dunlop, Chairman of P&O Ferries, as Vice President/President elect of ECSA for a period of two years.



ECSA COMMITTEES

The regular review of the Chairmanships of the ECSA Committees which took place at the ECSA Board meeting in March resulted in the following appointments for the next two years: Mr. Dierk Lindemann (Germany) Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee with Mr. Guy Sulpice (France) as Vice Chairman, and Mr. H'kan Friberg (Sweden) Chairman of the Shipping Policy Committee. The Board thanked and commended John Lusted and Bernd Kr'ger, stepping down as Chairmen of the two Committees, for their outstanding performance.



ECSA SECRETARIAT

Mr. Christophe Tytgat has joined the ECSA secretariat as from June 2001. Mr Tytgat obtained a Law Degree at the University of Leuven and is Master in International Law and in International Politics. He was previously employed in the Belgian Ministry of Transport.
