    Pour l'armement CMA CGM, l'année 2000 démarre avec des initiatives importantes qui portent notamment sur le lancement en avril prochain d'un nouveau service intégralement containérisé entre l'Asie et la côte est des Etats-Unis, via le canal de Panama. Ce service est assuré en coopération avec l'armement taiwanais Kien Hung. Ce projet a évidemment été soumis à la Federal Maritime Commission ainsi qu'à l'organisation parallème chinoise MOC pour approbation.
