    Le noveau Livre Blanc de la Commission européenne sur la politique des transports de l’UE pour les dix années à venir n’est toujours pas sorti, et pourtant il suscite déjà dans les milieux routiers une véritable levée de boucliers. “Il a pour but de séparer la croissance du transport et la croissance économique, et de promouvoir le rail comme alternative efficace au transport routier, posant des bases irréalistes pour accéder au développement durable. Celui-ci nécessite plutôt des actions au niveau de l’innovation, des incitations et de l’infrastructure”, dit l’IRU dans un communiqué. La FNTR française, quant à elle, dit qu’il faudra “gérer l’expansion dans un esprit de dialogue et une volonté de modernité”.

    La Commission européenne vient d’approuver (voir LL du 19/7) plusieurs ‘orientations politiques’ pour son Livre Blanc concernant la future politique de transport de l’Union européenne. Ces ‘orientations’ constitueront la base d’une soixantaine de propositions qui seront énumérées en détail dans le Livre Blanc que la Commission acceptera formellement en septembre. L’objectif de ce document est de pourvoir l’Union européenne d’un programme d’action qui devrait progressivement séparer la croissance du transport de la croissance économique.
