In crescita l'attività ferroviaria a servizio del porto di Rotterdam
Lo scorso anno la quota della modalità ferroviaria è salita all'11%

Lo scorso anno la quota di container trasportati da e per il porto di Rotterdam per via ferroviaria è cresciuta di oltre il 20% rispetto al 2005. La quota della modalità ferroviaria è così salita dal 9 all'11%, mentre la modalità stradale è diminuita attestandosi al 59% (60% nel 2005) e la quota relativa alla navigazione interna è rimasta pressoché invariata ad oltre il 30%.

Up to and including 2001, figures for the ECT Terminals (Home+Delta), which for a long time accounted for almost three quarters of total container handling, were used. It must be noted that, in this way, the share of inland shipping and rail was overestimated and that of the truck underestimated. With the arrival and growth of APM Terminal Rotterdam and container transport by short sea (lolo and roro), the ECT figures became less representative and from 2001 onwards all terminals were included in the count. That year is listed twice, to show the difference this made.
